Notes To Dear Self
Dear Self I heard you are sad.
Mtcheww If I must hiss
Sad over a broken dark tall jar that refuses to and never is mended?
Getting bitter or better over bludgeoned circumstance?
Coping and correcting feelings plaguing your psyche
Or swimming in the calm ocean of self pity?
Get up and keep trying
Till cupid’s butterfly churns in you
Dear Self must you be Tom, Dick, Harry?
Swirling in whirlwind of vogue?
Going for what goes
Never what does.
Flying after endless wants
Neglecting needful needs?
Answering the call of youth
Never heeding the warning of old age
Engulfing the present;Never saving the future
Dear Self can you borrow me your ears?
No. I mean your inner insight
Voyage to the seat of your mind
Do you know Self,
Enthronement of contentment
Will do not only you good
Posterity will benefit from this selflessness
Devoid of avarice for fickle wants?
Dear Self your face ;your identity
Aint an impressionist canvass
Making chemical rainbow patterns
Won’t make you prettier than
You’ve ever been
Neither will Kilimanjaro heels
Make you more confident
Than your ego boost
Of being yourself
Dear Self for the love of self
I write
Upon the tables of your heart
Be and yourself good.
Yours sincerely,
Me, Myself and I.
